Barcelona captain Raphinha has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the Spanish club until June 30, 2030.
The La Liga champions confirmed the agreement on Thursday, November 5, extending the Brazilian forward’s previous contract, which was due to expire in 2028.
“A declaration of intent. Our dear captain will continue to lead our project until 2030,” Barcelona said in a statement.
The 29-year-old joined Barcelona from Leeds United in 2022 and has established himself as one of the club’s key attacking players.
Raphinha enjoying impressive season
The new agreement comes as Raphinha continues to deliver strong performances for the Catalan side.
Barcelona said he had scored 19 goals in the 2026/27 season at the time of the announcement, including 15 in La Liga and four in the UEFA Champions League.
His performances have also strengthened his place in the club’s history. He has made 190 appearances for Barcelona and scored 94 goals, making him the fourth Brazilian player with the most appearances and goals for the club.
Raphinha had previously expressed his desire to extend his stay at Barcelona, saying in September that he could even consider ending his playing career at the club.
Brazilian has become a key figure under Flick
Since joining Barcelona, Raphinha has won three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups, according to the club.
He has also become an important figure under manager Hansi Flick, who took charge in 2024. The Brazilian has been deployed in different attacking positions, including a more central role, as the team adjusts its options in the forward line.
The contract extension secures the services of the Barcelona captain for at least another three and a half seasons and reinforces the club’s plans to retain key players as it continues its campaign in domestic and European competitions.
