Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has said she is ready to return to making movies after making her celebrity boxing debut against reality TV star Phyna.
Blessing was knocked out by Phyna during their four-round bout at Balmoral Promotions’ Chaos in the Ring event in Lagos on October 1, 2026.
Reflecting on the experience, the actress described stepping into the ring as a courageous achievement, noting that she had only trained for two days before the contest.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Blessing maintained that the outcome of the fight did not diminish her sense of accomplishment.
She then signalled her intention to return her attention to acting, writing that it was time to “go back to making movies” because she was not a boxer.
Despite the defeat, however, Blessing said she would consider another boxing appearance.
In a separate post, she answered “OH YES” when asked whether she would participate in another bout, suggesting that her first experience had not completely put her off the sport.
The actress said she had never previously raised her hands to fight anyone but found the courage to enter the ring and compete.
She also dedicated the experience to her late mother, Gloria Obasi Sunday.
According to Blessing, she wanted her mother to feel present during the occasion and requested her late mother’s favourite song to be played before she entered the ring.
The actress also thanked Balmoral Promotions and Bet9ja for giving her the opportunity to participate, describing the experience as one she would remember.

Blessing’s comments came after Phyna secured a knockout victory in the celebrity bout, which formed part of the entertainment-focused boxing card in Lagos.
