Tinubu returns to Abuja after six days Lagos visit

President Bola Tinubu will depart Lagos for Abuja after spending six days in the nation’s commercial capital following his return from his annual vacation in Europe.

The President arrived in Lagos on 29th September after spending his vacation in London and Paris, where he had taken a break from official duties.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu undertook a number of official and public engagements during his stay in Lagos.

The President addressed Nigerians on October 1 to commemorate the country’s 66th Independence Day anniversary, using the occasion to highlight the achievements of his administration and reaffirm his commitment to the ongoing economic and institutional reforms.

Later that day, Tinubu attended the national premiere of MKO, a documentary chronicling the life, political struggle and enduring legacy of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, as well as the historic June 12 pro-democracy struggle.

The premiere was held at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos and brought together notable personalities from the political, cultural and creative sectors.

On Sunday, the President also visited the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at his Iga Iduganran Palace on Lagos Island.

The visit formed part of the President’s engagements in Lagos before his scheduled return to Abuja, where he is expected to resume his official duties.

Tinubu’s six-day stay in Lagos came shortly after his return from his annual vacation abroad.
