Kwara Gov. declares Oct. 5 work-free day for teachers

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has declared Monday, October 5, 2026, a work-free day for teachers across the state to commemorate World Teachers’ Day.

The declaration gives teachers across public schools in the state a day off from their regular duties as the government joins the global observance of the profession and its contribution to society.

In a statement issued on Friday by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mashood Agboola, AbdulRazaq extended his best wishes to teachers across the state and acknowledged their contributions to human capital development.

“His Excellency extends his best wishes to teachers across the length and breadth of the state whose contributions to human capital development is acknowledged at all times. He thanks our teachers for their efforts and resilience,” the statement said.
