The Nigerian Army has arrested two suspects of armed robbery and other unlawful acts in terrorising residents in Plateau State.
The duo, Kabiru Mohammed and Abdul-Hamid Yusuf were apprehended by troops of Sector 6, following preliminary findings of criminal network which also included kidnapping were traced to them, the operatives invading their hiding arena to conduct the crackdown.
It was gathered on Friday that the arrest took place in Ganawuri town, Riyom Local Government Area at about 10:30 p.m yesterday, and are being held for questioning as investigators work to determine their individual roles and establish whether other members of the alleged syndicate are operating in the area.
The source added that the operation was carried out by troops of the Sector 6, Operation Enduring Peace, as part of broader efforts to tackle threats to residents and protect lives and property in Plateau State.
Military authorities are reportedly expected to take further action based on the outcome of the investigation.
