Abba Represents Peace, Development, Says Kano Writer

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has been described as a symbol of peace, development and inclusive governance, with the people urged to support and pray for his administration.

Abdulmalik Suleiman, in a statement, said Yusuf had focused on restoring political stability and delivering development across education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth empowerment and civil service reforms.

According to Suleiman, the governor inherited a state characterised by political tension but had worked to create what he described as a more peaceful and inclusive political environment.

He said Yusuf had chosen reconciliation over political vendetta and ensured that citizens across political and social divides felt a sense of belonging.

“Gov. Abba represents peace, development and hope. What he needs now is the support and prayers of the people and nothing more,” Suleiman said.

He also highlighted the administration’s interventions in the education sector, including the declaration of a state of emergency, payment of outstanding foreign scholarships, renovation of schools and recruitment of teachers.

Suleiman said the government had equally implemented projects in healthcare, urban renewal, rural roads, youth empowerment and civil service reforms.

He described the projects as “real, people-oriented projects” capable of directly improving the lives of Kano residents.

The writer urged opposition politicians and other stakeholders to place the interests of Kano above partisan considerations.

“Opposition must put Kano first. Criticism should be constructive, not destructive,” he said.

Suleiman also called on elders, youths, market women, religious leaders, traditional institutions and the business community to support the administration in consolidating its achievements.

He warned against allowing political disagreements to undermine peace and development in the state.

“Kano is too important to be dragged back by bitter politics. It needs continuity of peace and sustenance of development,” he said.

Suleiman said Yusuf had demonstrated that leadership could be humble, accessible and compassionate, urging residents to support and pray for the governor.

“When peace reigns, development thrives, and when development thrives, the people prosper,” he added.
