An eight-year-old child has died alongside other bus passengers gruesomely injured during an auto crash which happened in Anambra State.
The Fire Service who deployed it’s officers to the scene to ensure calmness in the area did disclosed that the bus was conveying 14 passengers after which it had the accident.
The mishap which happened on Sunday near the Anabel Event Centre, along the Onitsha–Enugu Expressway, leaving the child dead at the as revealed by the media and Publicity Unit of the Service, headed by Chukwudi Chiketa.
Chiketa said the fire service received a call at about 3:30 pm, with the service officers reporting to the scene swiftly while assessing the situation and securing the area, rescuing and evacuating the survivors.
The injured persons were evacuated and taken to the hospital for medical attention, as held by Chiketa.
Chiketa noted that the fire personnel implemented safety protocols to prevent any disaster and stayed on ground until the situation was brought under control and the area was declared safe.
He urged motorists and other road users to take maximum caution, avoid excessive speed and remain vigilant while driving, particularly when carrying passengers.
