Media personality Nedu Wazobia has spoken about the financial pressure facing Nigerians, saying the rising cost of living has made everyday survival increasingly difficult.
Nedu made the remarks in a video while discussing the growing expenses associated with basic needs such as school fees, rent, food, transportation, fuel and healthcare.
According to him, many workers receive their salaries only for the money to be quickly consumed by the numerous financial responsibilities they have to meet.
He also linked the economic pressure to some desperate decisions being made by individuals, saying financial hardship can push people into actions they might not otherwise consider.
“People are doing things they never imagined they will do, hurting people, betraying people, cutting corners, not necessarily because they were born wicked but because survival has become a daily battle in this our country,” Nedu said.
The media personality said Nigerians were not demanding extraordinary solutions but wanted an economy where their efforts could translate into a decent standard of living.
He said parents should be able to provide for their children without overwhelming financial pressure, while ordinary Nigerians should be able to face the future with less fear.
“We just want an economy where working hard can actually mean something, where a parent can provide for their children without stress and where ordinary Nigerians can wake up tomorrow with little less fear and a little more hope. At least we deserve that,” he added.
His comments come amid continued public discussions about living costs and the financial challenges faced by households across Nigeria.
