Police operatives in Benue State, supported by joint tactical forces, have neutralised a suspected bandit and arrested two others following an attack on Abeda Market in Logo Local Government Area of the state.
The operatives responded to the attack after it was reported and engaged the suspected bandits in an operation aimed at restoring security in the area.
According to a police situation report issued yesterday, the encounter resulted in the death of one of the suspected bandits, while two others were arrested and taken into custody.
The police said no casualty was recorded among its personnel during the operation.
The arrested suspects are currently in custody, while the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Makurdi, has commenced investigation into the incident.
