A media personality, Rufai Oseni has warned President Tinubu to be careful about his political relationship with the FCT minister.
The warning came after the minister recently said he would face witch-hunts from opposition politicians if the President loses the 2027 election.
The media personality questioned why the minister feared being targeted by former rivals if he was confident his actions were justified.
He pointed out that the minister had prevented one of those rivals from campaigning in his state when he was governor.
He also questioned why the minister thinks another opposition figure would hunt him, referencing reports about election discrepancies that might have benefited the minister’s preferred candidate.
The media personality warned that if the minister’s actions were truly justified, he should have nothing to fear.
He suggested the minister’s own concern about witch-hunts might indicate there was something questionable about his conduct.
More importantly, the media personality cautioned the President directly.
He noted that the minister has a track record of falling out with former political allies and allies, and warned that if he and the President eventually stop working together, the minister would likely reveal details about their political dealings in public.
He reminded the President that whatever agreements or arrangements exist between him and the minister should be things they are willing to discuss openly, because if their relationship breaks down, the minister would undoubtedly expose those details.
The media personality also referenced the minister’s past criticism of political patronage and how he had once warned another leader against the influence of powerful figures.
He noted the irony that the minister is now aligned with the President after previously criticizing such arrangements.
