Kylian Mbappé has said he does not expect to follow Cristiano Ronaldo’s path by continuing to play at the highest level into his 40s.
The France captain was asked about Ronaldo’s remarkable longevity and whether he could see himself remaining in top-level football until the age of 41.
Mbappé responded humorously, saying France would not allow him to continue playing for that long.
The Real Madrid forward, however, praised Ronaldo for maintaining the physical and mental condition required to compete at an elite level for so many years.
Mbappé acknowledged that Ronaldo’s career shows players can remain at the top for an extended period when they take care of their physical and mental well-being.
Despite his admiration for the Portugal captain, Mbappé said he does not expect to have a similarly long playing career.
Ronaldo, who is now 41, has continued playing for Al Nassr and Portugal, making his longevity one of the most notable features of his career.
Mbappé, meanwhile, remains one of the leading figures of the current generation and is continuing his career at Real Madrid.
