The Kwara State Government has approved the implementation of the 2025 promotion exercise for workers in the mainstream State Civil Service, as well as the 2024 and 2025 promotions for employees of agencies, parastatals and media houses.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq approved the promotions following the successful completion of the necessary processes by the Civil Service Commission and the affected establishments.
According to a memo issued by the Acting Head of Service, Dr Olufunke Shittu, on Thursday, the promotions will take effect from September 1, 2026.
Shittu said the approval for agencies, parastatals and media houses followed the conclusion of the required processes and an assessment of their financial implications.
Workers in the mainstream State Civil Service will benefit from the 2025 promotion exercise, with the accompanying financial benefits taking effect from September 1, 2026.
The Acting Head of Service said the approvals were part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen workers’ welfare and improve service delivery across the public sector.
She noted that the exercise would boost staff morale, enhance productivity and support career progression within the state public service.
Shittu commended the AbdulRazaq administration for its continued commitment to workers’ welfare and professional development, describing the approval as a significant step towards rewarding diligence and dedication among public servants.
