KADUNA — Kebbi Fishers Beach Soccer Club have emerged champions of the 2026 Nigeria Beach Soccer League Super 4 after defeating hosts Kada Beach Soccer Club 5-2 in a thrilling final in Kaduna.
The victory came as the President of the African Beach Soccer Union, Mohammed Hadejia, described the tournament as a success and said it had provided a strong foundation for Nigeria’s preparations for the forthcoming CAF Beach Soccer qualifiers.
The final was played on Sunday at the Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna, with Kebbi Fishers producing a dominant display to secure the title.
Manga was the star of the encounter, scoring four of Kebbi Fishers’ five goals as the side maintained its composure to overcome the home team.
Kada BSC, backed by their home supporters, fought hard but could only score twice as Kebbi Fishers held on to claim the championship.
Speaking shortly after the tournament, Hadejia congratulated the organisers, match officials, participating teams and the Kaduna State Government for successfully hosting the competition.
He also commended the facilities provided for the tournament, describing them as good, while praising the participating teams for their performances throughout the competition.
According to him, the successful conclusion of the Super 4 was significant to Nigeria’s preparations for its next international assignment.
Nigeria are scheduled to face Ghana on October 10 at the Murtala Mohammed Square in Kaduna in a CAF Beach Soccer qualifier.
Hadejia expressed confidence in Kaduna’s readiness to host the encounter, while also drawing attention to the progress being recorded in women’s beach soccer.
The Super 4 brought together some of the country’s leading beach soccer clubs, providing players with an opportunity to test their abilities ahead of Nigeria’s international campaign.
In the third-place playoff, Niger Beach Soccer Club defeated Ibom Beach Soccer Club 5-2 to claim the bronze position.
Ibom BSC consequently finished fourth in the competition.
The tournament also featured a novelty friendly between the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria and former Nigeria Beach Soccer League stars.
The old stars proved too strong for the journalists, defeating SWAN 4-1 in the entertaining encounter.
At the individual awards ceremony, Kada BSC forward Dozie Frank emerged as the tournament’s highest goal scorer after finding the net 17 times.
Kada BSC’s Victor Tale was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
Niger BSC received the Fair Play award for their conduct during the competition.
Kebbi Fishers goalkeeper Nuhu Aiki was rewarded with the Best Goalkeeper award after his impressive performances.
Ibom BSC’s Gedion John was also recognised as the tournament’s Rising Star.
With the Super 4 now concluded, attention shifts to Nigeria’s October 10 clash against Ghana, with Kaduna set to provide the stage for another important chapter in the country’s beach soccer campaign.
