Former Kaduna State governorship aspirant, Ja’afaru Sani, has resigned his membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sani, who previously served as the ADC National Vice Chairman (Northwest), communicated his decision through a resignation letter in which he stated that his withdrawal from the party takes immediate effect.
It was gathered on Tuesday that the letter was addressed to the ADC Ward Chairman in Anchau Ward, Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State, with copies sent to the party’s national, zonal and state leadership for their information.
In the letter, Sani expressed appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to the party over the years, particularly as one of its foundational members in Kaduna State and the Northwest.
“I thank you for the opportunity to serve the party in various capacities as one of the foundational members of the party in Kaduna State and the Northwest,” he said.
His exit comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections, with politicians and parties across Kaduna State repositioning and exploring new alliances.
Sani, however, did not state the political party or platform he intends to join after leaving the ADC.
There have been indications linking him with the All Progressives Congress (APC), although he has not publicly confirmed such a move in the resignation letter.
His departure is therefore expected to attract attention as political parties continue to consolidate their structures and alliances ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
