Singer Fave has spoken out about the unfair treatment female musicians face in the industry, saying their success depends more on appearance than ability.
The artist made the comments during an episode of the Afropolitan podcast, contrasting expectations for women with those facing male counterparts.

This focus on appearance overshadows the music itself, she argued, with people often reacting to their sexual fantasies about performers rather than engaging with the actual art.
The singer described this as a major problem, noting that female artists must dress a certain way to be taken seriously, while men face no such pressure.
Despite these hurdles, she acknowledged that women continue contributing powerfully to Nigerian music, achieving success despite the extra burden placed on them.
