Four members of a family, including a father, mother and two children, have been rescued alive after a building collapsed on them in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The incident occurred at Oyan Compound, No. 41 Popo Giwa Street, beside Gogoro Mosque, in the Ile Oyan Masalasi Gogoro area of Popo Giwa.
The building reportedly collapsed suddenly, trapping members of the family beneath the rubble.
Rescuers and members of the community subsequently mobilised to the scene, where efforts were launched to locate and evacuate those trapped.
The four rescued victims comprised the father, mother and their two children.
The mother was reportedly taken to a hospital for medical attention, while the other rescued family members were said to be alive and receiving attention.
Rescue operations have since been intensified following reports that three other members of the family remain trapped beneath the debris.

An excavator has been deployed to the scene to assist rescuers in carefully removing the rubble and creating access to the victims believed to be trapped inside the collapsed structure.
Community members and emergency responders are working together as the operation continues, with rescuers focused on reaching the remaining victims without causing further collapse of the structure.
Authorities are expected to sustain the rescue operation until all persons believed to have been inside the building are located and accounted for.
The cause of the building collapse was not immediately known as of the time of filing this report.
