The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms (PTFR), Abdulrasheed Maina, wanted over an alleged case of receiving stolen property.
Maina, 61, was serving an eight-year prison sentence following his conviction on a 12-count money laundering charge. His conviction and sentence were earlier upheld by the appellate court.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, said the Commission declared Maina wanted in connection with an alleged case of receiving stolen property.
The Commission described Maina as an indigene of Biu, Borno State, and urged members of the public with information about his whereabouts to assist investigators in locating him.
The EFCC appealed to anyone with useful information on Maina’s whereabouts to contact its offices in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt or Abuja.
It also provided the telephone number 08093322644 and email address [email protected] for members of the public to submit information.
The Commission urged anyone with relevant information to contact the nearest police station or other security agencies.
