The Bauchi State Government has posted 569 newly recruited teachers to schools across the state as part of efforts to strengthen the education sector.
The teachers have been directed to report immediately to their respective schools and uphold the values of the teaching profession through dedication and punctuality.
Speaking during the distribution of the posting letters on Tuesday in Bauchi, the Commissioner for Education, Abdulkadir Ibrahim, congratulated the new teachers and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the state government.
He charged them to be good ambassadors of the teaching profession and remain committed to their responsibilities.
“Your work starts now. We will monitor you to see your progress. Please, don’t let us down,” Ibrahim said.
The commissioner said the recruitment was part of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s commitment to prioritising education and strengthening the sector.
“The Government of Senator Bala Mohammed has made education a priority, that is why we engaged you and more are coming. The government believes in your capacity,” he added.
Ibrahim assured that the administration would continue to invest in education through the recruitment of qualified teachers, provision of infrastructure and improvement of staff welfare.
Some of the newly recruited teachers who spoke with journalists expressed gratitude to the state government and the Ministry of Education for the opportunity, pledging to contribute to improving the standard of education in the state.
