The Nigerian Army has arrested seven persons for allegedly violating a curfew imposed in Plateau State following emerging security threats in some communities.
The suspects were apprehended during a curfew enforcement operation after troops encountered them in an area where movement restrictions were in force.
According to a security source on Friday, the suspects were arrested in Kasuwa Ali, Mangu, by troops of Sector 8, Sub-Sector 81, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), alongside personnel of Keystone Gindiri Division.
The source added that the troops also intercepted 23 cattle grazing along the Gindiri-Chanso Road during the operation.
According to the source, the herder fled after sighting the soldiers, abandoning the livestock.
The seven curfew violators were subsequently handed over to Keystone Gindiri Division for further investigation and necessary action, while the recovered cattle were taken to a secure location.
Meanwhile, military personnel have continued patrols and enforcement activities across the affected areas to deter violations and support efforts to maintain law and order in Mangu.
