Amotekun rescues woman, children found wandering in Osun
Operatives of the Osun State Amotekun Corps have rescued a woman and her children after they were found wandering along the Gbongan-Ibadan Road in Osogbo.
As gathered, the woman and the children were spotted by Amotekun patrol officers on Thursday night while moving along the busy road, with the mother appearing unable to properly care for the baby in her custody.
The patrol officers intervened and took the woman and her children to the corps’ office for safety.
The woman was said to have been unable to provide satisfactory information about her identity, family or where she was coming from when questioned by the operatives.
According to the corps spokesperson, Yusuf Abass, on Friday, the development prompted the operatives to keep the family in a secure location while efforts were made to establish their identity and trace their relatives.
Abass appealed to members of the public to assist in identifying the woman, while urging anyone who had information about her family to contact the corps’ office in Osogbo.
He also called on residents to circulate the information widely, saying such assistance would help reunite the woman and her children with their family.
