Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has pledged his administration’s continued support and partnership with investors in the state, assuring them of a safe and secure environment for their investments.
He said the state government would continue to create an enabling environment for businesses and investors to thrive, while protecting their investments.
Eno gave the assurance on Tuesday when he received the management of Seplat Energy, led by its Chairman, Udo Udoma, during a courtesy visit to the Government House, Uyo.
The governor also congratulated the company’s new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Effiong Okon, on his appointment and assumption of duty.
Eno said Okon’s appointment was significant to both Seplat Energy and Akwa Ibom State, urging him to use his position to contribute to the development of the state and improve the company’s relationship with its host communities.
He commended Seplat Energy for its collaboration and sense of responsibility towards the state, urging the company to sustain its partnership with the government and devise measures to improve the welfare of its host communities.
“Akwa Ibom has remained very peaceful due to the intentional teamwork of government, security agencies and the people to drive development,” he said.
He pledged that his administration would continue to work with Seplat Energy and other stakeholders to sustain peace and create an enabling environment for investment and development.
Eno also commended Udo Udoma, whom he described as one of the great sons of Akwa Ibom, expressing confidence that the new management of Seplat Energy would deliver on its objectives and make greater impact in the communities where it operates.
Earlier, Udo Udoma commended the governor for what he described as his visionary and impactful leadership in the state.
He said the delegation was at the Government House primarily to introduce Okon to the governor and strengthen the relationship between Seplat Energy and the state government.
Speaking during the visit, Okon expressed delight at returning home to contribute to the development of Akwa Ibom while serving the interests of Seplat Energy.
