Eleven people have been shot at a high school in Turkey.
A 15-year-old male suspect has been detained by police.
The shooting happened Tuesday morning at Inci Uzmez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Manisa in western Turkey.
Two people are in critical condition.
All the injured are students.
The suspect’s mother, father and grandfather have also been detained.
The grandfather reportedly owned the weapon.
CCTV footage shows the suspect walking through empty streets checking a shotgun.
He’s casually dressed and unhurried.
Later footage shows him running from the scene with the weapon in hand.
The suspect is reportedly a student at the school.
No one knows why he opened fire yet.
Turkish law requires the teenager to appear before a court before being officially arrested.
This is the third school shooting in Turkey this year.
The education ministry said the incident has deeply saddened the nation and the educational community.
Three national investigators have been sent to Manisa.
Two deadly school shootings happened in April, which outraged Turkey.
The government introduced new security measures for the 2026-2027 school year, including tighter gun controls.
In one April attack, a 14-year-old killed nine students aged 10 and 11 and one teacher in Kahramanmaras.
The gunman died at the scene.
Before April, Turkey had no history of school shootings.
