Trump throws tantrum on Truth Social attacking defiant GOP senator

President Donald Trump posted a lengthy 253-word rant on Truth Social Friday attacking Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) over his opposition to the $1.7 billion taxpayer-funded “anti-weaponization fund” designed to compensate Jan. 6 Capitol riot participants.

“Perhaps there has never been a group of people treated so badly in our Nation’s history,” Trump wrote.

Cornyn has vowed to block Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s confirmation until the fund is eliminated.

Trump claimed the fund does not benefit him personally but rather “great American Patriots who were hunted down like dogs” by the Biden administration.

“They are suffering still, many ruined, and I felt that they should be given compensation for what has been done to them,” Trump continued.

“I gave up any payments for myself, which would have been substantial, including for the illegal and unprecedented raid on Mar-a-Lago, my home in Florida, even though many legal experts, and others, including John Cornyn, said it was a shocking and disgusting display of ‘weaponization’ against me.”

“I will always feel that these victims of government abuse should be paid back for what they were forced to endure, their lives have been ruined!”
