Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Informant in Adamawa
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a suspected terrorist informant during an intelligence-led operation in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The suspect, identified as Alhaji Sule Bako, was apprehended at about 11:40 a.m. on August 5 in Dzangola Kilba, following credible intelligence linking him to alleged information-sharing activities with terrorist elements operating in the area.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that troops of 232 Battalion (Tactical), operating under Operation DESERT SANITY V, carried out the arrest as part of the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign in the North-East.
The suspect was reportedly arrested without incident and taken into military custody for preliminary interrogation and further investigation.
Security sources said investigators were working to establish the extent of Bako’s alleged involvement with terrorist networks and determine whether he had facilitated their operations in the area.
The arrest is part of sustained intelligence-driven operations by Operation HADIN KAI aimed at disrupting terrorist support networks across the North-East, particularly informants, logistics suppliers and other suspected collaborators.
The military has continued to intensify offensive and intelligence-gathering operations to degrade insurgent capabilities, disrupt their activities and deny terrorist groups access to local support structures within the theatre.
