Fenerbahce have reached an agreement with Napoli to sign Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, with the Turkish club set to complete a move for the experienced forward.
Reports from Sky Sport Italia, Gianluca Di Marzio and other Italian outlets indicate that Napoli have accepted a €6 million transfer fee for Lukaku, with additional performance-related bonuses included in the agreement.
The deal could rise by a further €3 million, with €2 million linked to the number of appearances Lukaku makes and another €1 million dependent on Fenerbahce winning the Turkish Super Lig title during the 2026-27 season.
Lukaku set for Turkey switch
Lukaku is reportedly already undergoing the final stages of his move to Istanbul after completing part of his medical examinations with Fenerbahce.
The Belgian striker is expected to travel to Turkey soon to finalise the transfer and begin the next chapter of his career.
The 33-year-old joined Napoli from Chelsea in the summer of 2024 in a deal worth €30 million plus bonuses and played a key role as the club secured the Serie A title that season.
However, his position at the Stadio Maradona has become less secure following Napoli’s signing of Rasmus Hojlund last summer.
With Lukaku now entering the final 12 months of his three-year contract, Napoli have decided to cash in on the striker rather than risk losing him for a reduced fee.
Napoli prepare replacement plan
Lukaku’s departure will leave Napoli searching for another attacking option as they prepare for the new campaign.
Reports suggest the Italian champions are considering Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus as a possible replacement for the Belgian.
