The family sat together in the stands alongside the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, but George and Charlotte also caught attention thanks to the playful sibling banter between them.
Earlier that day, they met Team Wales athletes and their families at Wales House in central Glasgow, where they chatted about their achievements and preparations for the Games.
During a conversation with bronze medal-winning identical twin gymnasts Abigail and Emily Roper, Charlotte asked whether they did “a lot of stretching and conditioning,” with the sisters explaining they do both to build strength and flexibility.
Kate then turned to Louis and said, “Louis, you’re perfecting your handstand at the moment.”
“A bit,” he replied, before admitting that Charlotte says he’s “not very good” at it. The gymnasts then asked Charlotte if she could do a handstand.
“Yeah,” she replied confidently. When they turned to George, he and Charlotte burst into laughter before admitting he was “rubbish at anything that involves flexibility.”
William’s Dad Joke Shows How Relatable They Are
4The family outing wasn’t complete without one of William’s trademark dad jokes. The Prince of Wales showed just how relatable he can be after joking that he embarrasses George—and seems to enjoy doing it.
According to The Telegraph, five-time Olympic champion cyclist Dame Laura Kenny had tried to convince William and Kate to “come and give it a go.”
“Be careful what you wish for, as they want to put us on a tandem bike in the Velodrome,” Kate joked.
Welsh TV presenter Gethin Jones then turned to the children and asked, “Would you like to see mum and dad on a tandem in the Velodrome later?”
George quickly replied, “No,” appearing visibly embarrassed by the idea.
“We embarrass you enough as it is,” William quipped, drawing laughs.
