Police IG approves fresh CP deployments, names new commissioners for eight States

 

 

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the deployment of Commissioners of Police to eight state commands and several strategic formations across the country.

The deployments followed the approval of recommendations submitted by the IGP to the Police Service Commission (PSC) and are aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness, leadership and ongoing reforms within the Nigeria Police Force.

Under the new arrangement, Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo will serve as Commissioner of Police in Abia State, while Ayodeji Faniyan takes charge in Plateau State.

Other appointments include Saka Adewale Ajao as CP Bayelsa; Ajo Geofrey Ordue as CP Cross River; Nanna Oji Ama as CP Anambra; Patrick Daaor as CP Edo; Tani Murtala as CP Jigawa; and Samuel Erale as CP Delta.

The Force also announced new deployments to strategic departments and formations at the Force Headquarters and other locations.

Among them, Yemi John Oyeniyi was deployed as Commissioner of Police in charge of Intelligence and Training, Force Intelligence Department, Abuja, while Charles Ezekwesiri Dike takes charge of INTERPOL at the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Abuja.

Aina Adesola was deployed to the Department of Finance and Administration, Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters, while Uduak Ita Otu was posted to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the FCID Annex in Alagbon, Lagos.

Other postings include Abdullateef Ajape Yusuf as CP General Investigation, FCID, Abuja; Taiwo A. Adedeji as CP Counter Terrorism Unit, Force Headquarters; and Ajayi Oluyemi as CP Anti-Human Trafficking, FCID, Abuja.

Bolanle Aremu was deployed to the Department of Finance and Administration, Force Headquarters, while Ibrahim Lukunche Usman takes charge of the Inspectorate, Department of Training and Development.

Also affected are Mohammed Hassan Ahmed, deployed as Deputy Commandant, Police Staff College, Jos; Rita Oyintare Oki, CP Department of Finance and Administration, Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos; and Ibrahim Umar D. Zungura, CP Administration, FCID Annex, Kaduna.

Others include Nelson Nwamana, CP Training and Courses, Police Academy, Kano; Akingbade C. Adeyinka, CP Administration, Force Intelligence Department, Abuja; and Iya Umar Mohammed, CP Training, Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters.

Darma Nuhu Na’aliyu was posted as CP Anti-Fraud, FCID Annex, Kaduna; Mohammed Yakubu as CP Welfare, Department of Finance and Administration, Force Headquarters; and Danbaba Mohammed Labbo as CP Administration, FCID Annex, Gombe.

The Inspector-General charged the affected senior officers to deploy their experience towards improving intelligence-led policing, operational effectiveness and professionalism in their new areas of responsibility.

Disu also urged the officers to strengthen engagement with communities and remain committed to protecting lives and property while maintaining discipline, accountability and high standards of service.

The Police Force said the latest deployments form part of its broader reform strategy to strengthen internal capacity, improve operational efficiency and enhance policing services across the country.
