The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to deepening strategic partnerships with the private sector to strengthen logistics support, improve fleet sustainment and enhance operational readiness in pursuit of the nation’s security objectives.
The COAS stated this when he received the executive management of Elizade Nigeria Limited during a courtesy visit to Army Headquarters, Abuja.
Represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Major General Bamidele Alabi, Shaibu stressed the importance of maintaining a reliable and mission-ready vehicle fleet to sustain combat effectiveness, facilitate rapid troop deployment and enable the Nigerian Army to respond effectively to emerging security threats across the country.
According to a statement by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele, the COAS described collaboration between the military and private sector as a key force multiplier in strengthening defence capabilities, particularly in fleet management, equipment maintenance, technical support and manpower development.
He noted that such partnerships align with the Nigerian Army’s transformation agenda aimed at developing a more agile, technologically driven and self-reliant force. He commended Elizade Nigeria Limited for its longstanding support to the Army through vehicle supplies, maintenance services, technical cooperation and industrial training programmes for personnel of military workshop units.
The COAS said the company’s continued contributions have complemented the Army’s efforts to improve its logistics framework and enhance operational efficiency in protecting Nigeria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He further assured the delegation of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to creating a secure environment that supports economic growth, encourages investment and strengthens the connection between national security and national development. He added that sustained cooperation among the military, government institutions and private sector remains essential to building resilient defence capabilities, maintaining operational effectiveness and promoting lasting peace and prosperity.
Earlier, the Branch Manager of Elizade Nigeria Limited, Mr Adeniji Abiodun Adeyinka, conveyed the goodwill of the company’s Founder, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo, and its management. He commended the leadership of the Chief of Army Staff and the Nigerian Army’s efforts in tackling the country’s complex security challenges.
Adeyinka reaffirmed the company’s commitment to expanding its partnership with the Nigerian Army through enhanced technical support, fleet maintenance services, industrial attachment opportunities and the provision of quality automotive solutions tailored to the Army’s evolving operational requirements.
