Kano pilgrims board sets Aug 7 deadline for passport submission

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has set August 7 as the deadline for all registered intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj to submit their valid international passports in order to facilitate the processing of their travel documents.

Director-General of the board, Abubakar Ibrahim-Matawalle, directed the registered intending pilgrims to meet the deadline.

He noted that passport submission commenced on August 3 to enable the board to begin documentation and other administrative processes required for the 2027 Hajj exercise.

“Early submission of passports is necessary to ensure the timely processing of travel documents and compliance with deadlines set by the relevant authorities,” Ibrahim-Matawalle said.

The directive was contained in a statement signed by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Dederi, on Tuesday in Kano.

Furthermore, Ibrahim-Matawalle urged all registered intending pilgrims to submit their passports within the stipulated period to avoid delays in processing their Hajj documentation.

Concluding his statement, the director-general reaffirmed the board’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and hitch-free Hajj operation and appealed to pilgrims to cooperate with the board throughout the preparation process.
