Idris distributes shuttle buses to 7 Kebbi tertiary institutions

Governor Nasir Idris has handed over the keys of seven new 30-seater coaster civilian buses to heads of Kebbi state-owned tertiary institutions for students’ shuttle in order to ease their transportation difficulties.

The beneficiaries are the Adamu Augie College of Education, Argungu, Kauran Gwandu College of Nursing and Midwifery Science, Ambursa, and the Kebbi State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Jega.

The rest are Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Alieru; College of Advanced and Legal Studies, Yauri; College of Nursing Science, Birnin Kebbi, and the Kebbi State Polytechnic, Dakingari.

Commissioning the vehicles, Governor Idris described the provision of the buses as a promise fulfilled.

“I’ve been receiving reports from students complaining of lack of mobility, similar overtures also come from the Commissioner for Higher Education, Special Adviser on Students’ Matters, and others.

“My administration has procured these brand new buses to meet transport requirements of students.

“I’m advising the managements and students of the benefitting schools to make judicious use of the vehicles for the purpose enumerated.

“The authorities should not highjack the buses, because the students need them most”, the Governor said.
