THE Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has reiterated its dedication to supporting female entrepreneurship, driving private sector-led growth, and building an inclusive economy across the nation’s capital.
FCT Minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud made the commitment in Abuja on Friday, during the closing of the Women in Business and Impact Day.
The day is a highlight of the Abuja Business and Investment Summit/Expo, 2026, organised by Abuja Investments Company Ltd. (AICL).
Mahmoud described women entrepreneurs as “vital drivers” of job creation, innovation, family stability, and national prosperity.
She emphasised the need to expand women’s access to capital, tech resources, markets, mentorship, and decision-making roles.
She urged summit attendees to turn the event’s collaborative ideas and network connections into actionable, long-term investments capable of delivering real economic value.
Highlighting ongoing initiatives under the FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike, Mahmoud reaffirmed that the administration would continue upgrading critical infrastructure, streamlining business operations, and advancing policies that invite private sector collaboration.
According to her, these efforts directly support President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises economic diversification, innovation, and women’s empowerment.
The minister praised AICL, participating sponsors, exhibitors, and development partners for organising the event, and expressed confidence that the deals brokered during the expo would yield tangible economic progress for Abuja and Nigeria at large.
Echoing these sentiments, AICL Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Amb. Maureen Tamuno, said that the Expo had spotlighted Abuja’s high-yield investment options and culminated in several landmark Memoranda of Understanding.
Tamuno expressed gratitude to the summit’s keynote speaker, Nana Bampoe-Addo, former Ghanaian Minister of Gender and current Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration) to the President of Ghana as well as Mahmoud for their support of the Women’s Impact Day.
She reaffirmed AICL’s ongoing mission to transform Abuja into an innovative, inclusive, and globally competitive business hub. (NAN)
