Faniyan assumes duty as Plateau 47th police commissioner

Faniyan Ayodeji has taken over as the 47th Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, assuming responsibility for the command at a time when security remains a major concern across the state.

Faniyan takes over the leadership of the Command with over three decades of policing experience in crime fighting, investigation, peacekeeping and internal security.

He assumed duty on Tuesday, succeeding the previous Commissioner of Police, as the new head of the Plateau State Police Command.

The new Commissioner is expected to build on the achievements of previous administrations, strengthen police-community relations and intensify efforts to ensure the safety and security of residents across the state.

The Command urged the government, traditional and religious leaders, community leaders, youth organisations, civil society groups, the media and residents to support the new Commissioner in sustaining peace and public safety in Plateau State.
