Seriake Dickson, national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed confidence in the party’s electoral prospects following strategic consultations with state chairmen from the North-West zone.
The former Bayelsa governor convened the meeting to review campaign preparations and fine-tune strategies aimed at delivering NDC candidates across the region. In a post on his verified X account, Dickson characterised the North-West as a pivotal region in Nigeria’s political calculus and urged party leaders, members and supporters to unite ahead of the polls .
“It was a pleasure to host a strategic meeting of the national leadership of our party with the State chairmen of the North-West Zone, a very critical region in the politics of our country,” Dickson stated.
He commended the party’s leadership in the zone, particularly vice-presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for their dedication to the party’s success. “I commend the leaders of the zone led by our Vice Presidential candidate, His Excellency Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for their commitment and readiness to work for the success of our party,” he added .
Describing the discussions as productive, Dickson maintained that the party’s confidence has been bolstered ahead of the polls. “The discussions were fruitful, and we remain confident that victory is achievable,” he said .
The NDC is fielding former Anambra governor Peter Obi as its presidential candidate, with Kwankwaso as his running mate for the 2027 general election.
