Angel Reese isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, despite what her critics have to say. During the Atlanta Dream‘s most recent contest against the Seattle Storm, Reese put on an impressive performance, led her team in scoring, secured her 19th double-double of the season, and even set a new franchise rebounding record.
Reese had 21 points and 13 rebounds during yesterday’s game in College Park, earning the WNBA standout her 19th double-double and the 68th of her professional career.
According to the Atlanta Dream’s PR team, Reese grabbed six offensive rebounds last night, bringing her season total to 137, which is the most by any Dream player in a single season.
Reese still holds the WNBA record for the most in a season with 172 during her rookie season in 2024.

Reese’s teammate Naz Hillmon also showed up ready to play, adding 18 points to the boxscore, while Allisha Gray had 16.
Brionna Jones scored 14 points off the bench, and Jordin Canada had 10 points and nine assists. Rhyne Howard, who averages 17.2 points a game, only scored nine points.
The Dream led 87-74 with under four minutes left in the game before the Storm went on a 10-2 run. With 43.4 seconds remaining in the fourth, the Storm cut the deficit to 92-88; however, Gray sank two shots from the charity stripe to put the nail in the coffin and hand Seattle their eighth straight loss.

The Dream, meanwhile, have won their last five games and appear to be pushing hard to secure one of the WNBA’s top playoff seeds.
Reese is also learning to enjoy the wins, according to The Blast, considering her first two years with the Chicago Sky were losing seasons.
The LSU alum said that she decided to be more “intentional” this year with her new team and noted that she planned to “take things day by day and live in the moment.”
“I told myself this year I was going to be a lot more intentional with celebrating each win, so I’m trying to be in the moment. I had to grow up fast, so everything came fast, and it’s been all about learning. I’m figuring things out as I go,” she said.

Days before the Dream faced the Storm, Reese faced backlash alongside Dallas Wings player Paige Bueckers for jokingly betting on the outcome of their July 29 game.
The situation drew even more attention when the WNBA posted the moment on its official social media accounts and joked with Bueckers about it.
However, a spokesperson announced that the league would not punish Reese or Bueckers and took accountability for how its “lighthearted” social media post came across.
“We recognized that the post missed the mark, removed it shortly after it was published, and addressed the matter internally,” the statement read.
“We will also use this as an opportunity to reemphasize with the players involved that conversations about wagering on WNBA games, even when intended as a joke, can have negative consequences,” the spokesperson added.
How Angel Reese Is Handling The Pressure That Comes With Fame
While the criticism can be a lot to handle, Reese said that she’s implemented new strategies to help her stay grounded amid her rising fame.
“Having good people to talk to, sitting with myself, meditating, writing things down helps. A lot of things don’t really bother me as much anymore,” she said. “I focus on what’s real and what’s not. I’m mostly close to my family, and all of my friends are considered family to me.”
Reese, 24, also said that she’s been learning to give herself grace. “It’s remembering I’m still a person that’s living this life for the first time. I’m only 24, and there’s going to be a lot of ups and downs, highs and lows,” she shared.
