Dear Davido,
I write not as a politician, but as one of your millions of fans.
Like many Nigerians, I admire not only your extraordinary talent but also your humility, generosity and respect for people. My family and I have enjoyed your music for years. More importantly, your appeal cuts across political parties, ethnic groups, religions and regions. That is rare.
Nobody is saying your uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is above criticism, nor is anyone denying your right to support him. Every Nigerian is free to stand with family in politics.
My concern is different.
Campaigning for your uncle is understandable. Personally engaging every politician or commentator who criticises him is not. Those exchanges are better handled by campaign spokesmen. Your unique role is to unite millions through your music.
After this election, many Nigerians who will NOT vote for Governor Adeleke will still stream your songs, attend your concerts and proudly remain your fans. That broad goodwill is priceless.
That is why I believe you gain more by staying above the daily political crossfire than by personally trading political blows on your uncle’s behalf.
This is not a call for silence or neutrality. It is simply an appeal for balance.
Continue supporting your family, but also protect the rare national appeal that has made you one of Nigeria’s most loved entertainers.
