Prominent government officials, business leaders, political stakeholders and influential personalities are expected to converge in Abuja on Friday, August 21, 2026, for the Women in Business and Politics Summit.
The high-level summit is designed to provide a platform for women in business and politics to network, exchange ideas and deliberate on leadership, enterprise and issues critical to Nigeria’s national development.
Among dignitaries expected at the event are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON; Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede; and the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN.
Their participation is expected to add significant national prominence to the gathering, which seeks to strengthen connections between women leaders and key stakeholders across government, politics and the private sector.
A major highlight of the summit will be the presentation of awards to women who have distinguished themselves through outstanding contributions to business, leadership, politics and society.
The awards are aimed at recognising women whose achievements, leadership and influence have created opportunities, inspired others and contributed to national development.
The summit is also expected to attract other prominent personalities from the public and private sectors, creating an avenue for meaningful conversations, partnerships and opportunities for women across different fields.
With preparations for the event gathering momentum, the Women in Business and Politics Summit is positioned as a major platform for promoting women’s leadership, enterprise, visibility and participation in Nigeria’s socio-economic and political development.
The Summit Coordinator, Ms. Hassie Oyama, said the event would provide participants with opportunities to build valuable connections and engage influential stakeholders on issues affecting women in business and politics.
