A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions after sharing her younger brother’s WAEC result online, months after promising him ₦50,000 for every A1 he scored.
The Port Harcourt-based vendor, identified as @aliana_wears on TikTok, made the promise before her brother sat for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
She had promised to reward him with ₦50,000 for every A1 he obtained, but his final result left her facing a much bigger payment than she expected.
Brother bags 7 A1s in WAEC
After the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) released the 2026 WASSCE results on August 5, the student checked his grades and immediately sent a screenshot to his sister on WhatsApp.
The result showed that he performed excellently in nine subjects, recording seven A1s and two B2s.

His grades included: Geography: A1, Civic Education: A1 , English Language: A1, General Mathematics: A1, Biology: A1, Chemistry: A1, Physics: B2, Livestock Farming: B2, Technical Drawing: A1
With seven A1s, the reward based on his sister’s promise amounted to ₦350,000.
Lady reacts after seeing result
The lady took to TikTok to share her reaction after her brother reminded her about the money she promised.
In the video, she displayed the WAEC result and their WhatsApp conversation, jokingly lamenting the number of A1s her brother scored.
“Why will you give him 6 A?” she said while tagging WAEC’s purported TikTok account.
However, viewers who checked the result pointed out that the student actually recorded seven A1s, meaning the reward was even higher than she initially suggested.
Netizens react
The video has since gone viral, with many Nigerians praising the student for his impressive performance while joking about his sister’s ₦350,000 commitment.
