The Zamfara state chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned recent terrorist attacks in Talata Mafara and Bungudu local government areas of the state.
The party called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal to take immediate steps to end banditry in the state.
In a statement issued Sunday and signed by the publicity secretary, Alkassim Mustapha Kayatawa, the party said it received the news of the attacks with deep shock and sorrow.
NDC said gunmen killed several farmers in the communities of Sauna and Ruwan Gora in Talata Mafara local government area.
The statement described the victims as hardworking citizens who were ruthlessly killed by bandits.
It added that several other people sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving medical attention.
In a separate incident in Bungudu LGA, the NDC said terrorists invaded the area, abducted the sitting local government chairman, and took him to an unknown location in the bush.
