“We are calling to report our missing card” — Kids call out MTN after ₦100 airtime disappeared overnight

A group of children has sparked laughter on social media after allegedly reporting to MTN that the ₦100 airtime they recharged for a football match mysteriously disappeared overnight.

The amusing complaint, shared online, showed the children accusing the telecom provider of taking away the airtime before they had the opportunity to use it. According to the narration accompanying the post, the airtime had been intended for watching the Spain vs Argentina World Cup final.

The children claimed an aunt had given them the recharge card the previous night, but they discovered the balance was no longer available by the following afternoon despite not making any calls.

In their message, the children said, “Good Afternoon MRN service, we are calling to report our missing card. Our Aunty gave us the card Yesterday night around after 9 and this afternoon we discovered that the card was no more there and we did not use it to call anyone. Here’s our number in case you want to send the card back to us.”

The humorous wording of the complaint, particularly the request for the airtime to be “sent back“, quickly caught the attention of many internet users.
