Verydarkman alleges Oyo government paid ransom, says abducted victims still held

Social media commentator Verydarkman has claimed that he received information alleging that the Oyo State Government paid a ransom for the release of 39 schoolchildren and seven teachers who were abducted by armed kidnappers.

According to Verydarkman, despite the alleged payment, the captors reportedly refused to release the victims.

He further claimed that, as of the time of his statement, the children and teachers had spent 49 days in captivity.

The claims have not been independently verified, and neither the Oyo State Government nor security authorities have publicly confirmed that any ransom payment was made or that the alleged sequence of events occurred.

The fate of the abducted victims remains a matter of ongoing concern, while efforts by security agencies to secure their safe release continue.
