Governor Uba Sani has officially selected Mr Jerry Adams, Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), as his running mate for the 2027 gubernatorial election.
The announcement was made on Tuesday at the Government House, Kaduna.
In a statement, Governor Sani described Adams as a consummate public servant and institution builder whose stewardship at KADIRS has significantly bolstered the state’s fiscal capacity.
“Mr Jerry Adams is an accomplished tax administrator whose leadership has strengthened Kaduna’s revenue base,” the Governor said. “His nomination reflects our administration’s unwavering commitment to inclusion, justice, and fairness.”
Sani further emphasised that the choice reinforces his vision of a united, peaceful, and prosperous Kaduna—one where merit, competence, and character remain the bedrock of leadership.
Adams, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI), the Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM), and a Certified National Accountant (CNA), has presided over KADIRS since his appointment. His tenure has yielded measurable improvements in the state’s internally generated revenue.
While Adams is yet to formally accept the nomination, sources close to the Governor indicate he is fully aligned with the administration’s developmental agenda.
With the 2027 elections widely expected to be fiercely contested, Governor Sani’s early selection of a running mate signals a proactive approach to campaign planning and coalition-building.
Further details on the formal acceptance and campaign rollout are anticipated in the coming days.
