THE trial a sales representative, Anayabolu Amaka, charged with breach of trust, forgery and theft was on Monday stalled in a Magistrates’ Court in Lifecamp, Abuja.
The Defence Counsel, Ms Lillian Ibrahim, told the court that she received a message from her client that she was on admission in the hospital.
Ibrahim prayed the court to adjourn the matter.
Magistrate Best Ojukwu, noted that it was the second time the defendant would not be present in court for her trial.
”The defendant must be present unfailingly by the next hearing or the court will revoke her bail,” she held.
The magistrate, who adjourned the matter until Sept 22, ordered the defendant to pay N20,000 to the complainant for fuel.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the prosecution counsel, Charity Nwachukwu alleged that the defendant forged invoices and stole cosmetics at Vixa Pharmaceutical, Abuja, on March 10.
The offence, she said, contravened provisions of section 312, 364, and 288 of the penal code.
The defendant, however pleaded not guilty.(NAN)
