‘They Lied I Slept With His Girlfriend’ – Shatta Wale on Rift With Burna Boy

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has claimed that false allegations about his relationship with Burna Boy’s girlfriend caused a breakdown in his friendship with the Nigerian Afrobeats singer.

Speaking during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Shatta Wale said he had maintained a close relationship with Burna Boy before the misunderstanding emerged.

According to the Ghanaian musician, he welcomed Burna Boy to Ghana, provided accommodation and vehicles, and ensured the singer was comfortable throughout his visit.

Shatta Wale alleged that the situation changed after he parted ways with some members of his team, whom he accused of spreading damaging rumours to influential people in his life.

He claimed the former associates falsely told Burna Boy that he had been involved in a romantic relationship with the Nigerian singer’s girlfriend during the visit to Ghana.

“They told Burna Boy that I was sleeping with the girl he brought to Ghana. He just believed it,” Shatta Wale alleged during the interview.

The musician said the incident marked the beginning of the distance between both artists.

He further claimed that after Burna Boy’s international career gathered momentum, several attempts to reconnect with him proved unsuccessful.

According to Shatta Wale, he repeatedly called and sent messages to Burna Boy but received no response.

He also alleged that he reached out to the singer’s mother and manager, Bose Ogulu, but was only given reasons why Burna Boy was unavailable to speak with him.

Despite the fallout, Shatta Wale said he remains pleased with Burna Boy’s global success but regrets that he was never given the opportunity to explain his side of the story.

As of the time of publication, Burna Boy has not publicly responded to the allegations made by Shatta Wale during the podcast interview.
