Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding: What to expect from the wedding New York has tried to keep quiet
The couple have said nothing, but New York, a city that struggles to keep any secret for longer than a subway delay, has been filling in the blanks for them.
The guest list reveals itself in airports and pizzerias
There is no printed guest list circulating and no leaked seating chart, only the accumulating evidence of famous people turning up in the same zip code at the same time.
According to the BBC, the crowd is expected to dress the part, with one fashion editor predicting a run on Gucci and on Jonathan Anderson’s Dior, in keeping with what she called Swift’s taste for the polished and the romantic over the flashy.
The rest of the roster has assembled itself the way celebrity guest lists always do lately, through paparazzi rather than announcement.
Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, Zoë Kravitz, Jack Antonoff and the Haim sisters have all been placed in New York this week, alongside a contingent of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates, with reports putting the total guest count near 1,000, arriving on electronic invitations and, reportedly, non-disclosure agreements.
Not everyone made the cut, however. When asked at a press briefing whether he would be attending, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said, “I wish them a lovely wedding. I’ll listen to ‘Only the Young’ at home, on my own.”
A castle, a staircase, and one very chatty T-shirt tells the theme
Inside the Garden, the tell was not a leaked memo or a security briefing but a T-shirt. According to social media posts, a worker unloading equipment this week was photographed wearing a shirt reading “Taylor Swift’s Carpenters”.

The arena has apparently been getting a makeover to match, which is just as well, since a basketball bowl is hardly the most romantic setting for America’s own royal wedding.
Reports point to a fairytale theme running through the set design, pulled from imagery that has threaded through Swift’s music for over a decade, complete with a castle structure and a staircase built where the Knicks usually play.
Thursday’s rehearsal dinner, meanwhile, was held in the Infosys Theater, the Garden’s smaller stage, named for the Bengaluru-based IT firm under a sponsorship deal with the venue. Infosys has no relationship to Swift, Kelce or the wedding beyond the signage, though that has not stopped the name from trending alongside theirs this week.

Swifties have already begun lining the streets around Madison Square Garden, gathering along 7th and 8th avenues. According to Variety, NYPD officers patrolling the area had been briefed in advance about a likely influx of fans converging on an already congested stretch of Midtown.
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August 2025, and by Friday evening, if the barricades outside the world’s most famous arena are any indication, the surprise will be over.
