Nigerian businessman and entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as B-Lord, has advised singles to avoid rushing into marriage, saying the decision should only be made when they are emotionally and financially prepared.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Adult Gist podcast, B-Lord said many young people feel pressured by society and their peers to get married before they are truly ready.
‘Marriage is not an achievement’
The entrepreneur stressed that marriage should not be treated as a milestone that everyone must reach within a certain age.
According to him, choosing the right life partner is more important than meeting societal expectations.
He warned that people who rush into marriage may later regret the decision, especially when children become involved.
Calls for respect in relationships
B-Lord also encouraged men and women to treat each other with respect and kindness.
He urged men to treat women the same way they would want others to treat their future daughters, while advising women to show men the same respect they would hope their future sons receive.
He added that taking time before marriage can help individuals make wiser decisions and build healthier relationships.
