World champions, Spain, have leapfrogged Argentina to the number one spot of the latest FIFA World rankings after securing the World Cup title, while the Super Eagles of Nigeria are in position 26.
Spain, who beat second place Argentina, moved 25 points ahead of their final opposition team, following their World Cup trophy win which earned them 30 points after the extra time winner from Ferran Torres, to ensure a 39-match unbeaten for the La Roja side.
France and England are third and fourth respectively while Brazil is followed by Morocco in fifth and sixth positions. Portugal are seventh, Belgium, eighth, and the Netherlands in ninth, while Mexico holds the number 10 spot.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are 26th in the world, fourth in Africa behind Morocco, Senegal and Egypt, while Algeria and Ivory Coast are fifth and sixth respectively.
