Sowore Celebrates Spain’s World Cup Title, Predicts Tinubu’s Defeat in 2027

African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has congratulated Spain following its victory in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, using the occasion to draw a political comparison ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

Sowore made the remarks in a post on his verified X account shortly after Spain defeated defending champions Argentina 1-0 after extra time to lift the World Cup trophy on Sunday.

The activist-politician said the outcome of the final matched an earlier prediction he had made and expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu could similarly be defeated at the polls in 2027.

“It happened as I predicted it. The World Cup final I foretold… came to pass. Spain defeats Argentina,” Sowore wrote.

He added, “The same way we will defeat Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Congrats, Spain.”

Spain secured its second FIFA World Cup title after Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in extra time, ending Argentina’s reign as world champions.

The comment is the latest in a series of political statements by Sowore as conversations around the 2027 presidential election continue to gather momentum. While no formal campaign has begun, key political figures have increasingly used major national and international events to communicate their political messages.
