Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has nominated Olufunke Omolara Tayo-Makanjuola as Acting State Auditor-General, pending confirmation by the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The nomination was conveyed in Circular No. CIR/HOS/’26/052 issued by the Office of the Head of Service, with her appointment taking immediate effect.
The Office of the State Auditor-General, in a statement issued on Thursday, congratulated Tayo-Makanjuola on her nomination and expressed confidence in her ability to strengthen accountability, transparency and excellence in public sector auditing across Lagos State.
Before her nomination, Tayo-Makanjuola served as Head of Directorate, Government Accounts, where she played a key role in public financial management and government accounting.
Born on September 20, 1974, in Ikate-Elegushi, Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, she holds a Doctor of Business Administration in International Business from Lagos State University. She also holds master’s degrees in accounting and financial management, as well as qualifications in forensic investigation.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) and other professional bodies.
Tayo-Makanjuola has also received the Distinguished Woman of Peace and Honour Award from the United Nations Positive Livelihood Award Centre in recognition of her contributions to society.
Her nomination is subject to confirmation by the Lagos State House of Assembly.
