PSC releases names of 50,000 successful police constable applicants

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has released the names of successful applicants recruited into the Nigeria Police Force as Police Constables under the ongoing exercise to strengthen the country’s security architecture.

The Commission said the intake followed the successful conclusion of a comprehensive, inclusive, equitable and transparent recruitment process conducted in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Nigeria Police Force, Federal Character Commission, Ministry of Police Affairs, State Career and Counselling Departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee.

In a statement issued by the Head of Protocol and Public Relations of the PSC, Torty Kalu, on Wednesday in Abuja, the successful candidates who participated in the recently concluded written examination were advised to log into the official recruitment portal to check their recruitment status.

The Commission stated that the portal would be opened by 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, while successful applicants would also receive notifications through the email addresses and phone numbers provided during their applications.

According to the PSC, successful candidates are expected to report to their designated Police Training Institutions on dates and times that will be communicated later for medical examinations and documentation.

The Commission warned that candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period would be deemed to have declined the offer, while those who fail the medical examination conducted by the Police Medical Team upon resumption of training would be declared unfit and required to leave the programme.

Candidates are expected to report with their training call-up slip, NIN slip, BVN slip, original and photocopies of their certificates, as well as other required documents and items that will be listed on the recruitment portal.

The Chairman of the Commission, retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Hashimu Argungu, thanked President Bola Tinubu for approving the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables, describing the approval as a major step toward strengthening national security.

Argungu also urged the successful candidates to regard the opportunity as a call to serve the nation with dignity, integrity and unwavering commitment to ensuring a safe and secure Nigeria.
