The Nigeria Police Force is set to arraign Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), over alleged forgery, impersonation and other related offences.
Adeyemi, alongside two others, is facing multiple charges stemming from allegations that he operated a fictitious presidential agency from the Federal Secretariat Complex in Abuja, using forged documents and false pretences to obtain official recognition and privileges.
The case, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, is scheduled to come up before Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, July 14, after proceedings were adjourned on June 16 due to Adeyemi’s absence on health grounds.
The charges were filed by police prosecutor Wisdom Madaki on November 27, 2025, following investigations into the activities of the alleged fake agency.
Court documents list several prominent witnesses expected to testify, including the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, officials from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, police officers and individuals allegedly assigned to work with Adeyemi at the fictitious agency. Hotel operators and clerics linked to the case are also expected to testify.
The prosecution is expected to tender several exhibits, including the police investigation report, a petition by Gbajabiamila dated October 17, 2025, an alleged fake appointment letter dated March 8, 2024, and correspondence exchanged with government ministries and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Witness statements and photographs will also form part of the evidence.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the activities of the alleged fake agency within 30 days. It remains unclear whether the outcome of the ICPC probe will have any impact on the ongoing police prosecution.
